Diftovac - Lyophilisate and solvent for suspension for pigeons
Indications: For the active immunization of pigeons against fowlpox to reduce clinical signs and lesions related to fowlpox virus infection. Onset of immunity: at the latest 21 days after vaccination, as demonstrated by challenge.
Duration of immunity: minimum 9 months
Contraindications: Do not vaccinate sick animals or animals suspected of having any other disease.
Adverse reactions:
-very common (more than 1 in 10 animals displaying adverse reactions during treatment)
-common (more than 1 but less than 10 animals out of 100 animals)
-uncommon (more than 1 but less than 10 animals out of 1000 animals)
-rare (more than 1 but less than 10 animals out of 10000 animals)
-very rare (less than 1 animal out of 10000 animals, including isolated reports)

Target species: Pigeons
Dosage: Reconstitute the lyophilized product in diluent aseptically just before use. Devices used for vaccine reconstitution and application must be sterile and free from chemical disinfectant residues.
Feather-follicle administration route: Adverse effects after a single subcutaneous administration are very rare. In rare cases, after applying a single dose by feather follicle scarification, follicle swelling may occur, without exudate, with a diameter greater than 5mm.
The swelling will gradually disappear within 9 days. The frequency of adverse effects is described below:
Reconstitute the 50-dose vial in 5 ml of Diluent D
Reconstitute the 100-dose vial in 10 ml of Diluent D
Pluck 10-15 feathers from the middle part of the leg and introduce the vaccine into the exposed follicles. The vaccine dose for each animal is 0.1 ml. Avoid bleeding from the exposed follicles when administering the vaccine, as this could lead to a strong local reaction. Apply to clean and dry skin.
Vaccination scheme:
First vaccination: at 4 weeks of age;
Revaccination: in farms where there is a risk of disease (fowlpox) every 9 months.
Shake well before use and occasionally during administration.
