From hatching to molting, it's all about attention and planning
Often we see how chicks are fed with leftovers from flyers or with a cheaper mixture, just because they haven't reached flying age yet. This is profoundly wrong.
Chicks should be pampered so that they lack nothing and problems such as crooked keel and other ailments do not occur. It is not appropriate to feed them leftovers,
that other pigeons leave, as food for chicks. Moreover, protein supplements like Protein Plus, vitamins like Vit Amino, Biotics probiotics, Healthy Oil natural oils are particularly useful for harmonious development. Sanocest in drinking water to destroy bacteria and viruses reduces the pressure of infections on small organisms to a minimum.
I also noticed something else. After the flights are over, most breeders resort to cheap food and forget about the pigeons.
These breeders forget that, during the molting period, the foundations for next year's gains are laid. Excellent plumage will show its merit during flights. Plumage that is not optimal will inhibit the pigeons in their agility. Now, when pigeon racing has become a top sport, small things can make a difference.
There are many roads that lead to Rome when it comes to caring for pigeons during molting. The starting points should be the provision of amino acids with sufficient sulfur content. But not only that.
The liver works at high capacity during molting. A lot of building material must be produced for the new feathers to be optimal. Also, a lot of waste is produced. Therefore, this waste must be removed from the liver and kidneys. Thus, optimizing these organs for molting is not an unnecessary luxury.

Any illness during the molting period will create major problems for the molting process and feather formation.
Due to weakening during molting caused by the effort the body has to make, sometimes a latent paratyphoid focus is hidden. Autumn is the time of year when we see the most cases of paratyphoid. This is due to the molting period, but also because the inhibitory effect of various disinfectants administered during the racing season disappears.
In my own loft, pigeons receive supplements rich in protein and amino acids, like Protein Plus and Amino Forte, Sedo Plus for the liver, vitamins and very good food.
Probiotics are not missing from the weekly regimen because I have noticed how important intestinal health is and I periodically use Detox Plus with Moor Active for detoxification.
Now is the period when pigeons need the most resources and the most attention from us. If we miss this period, we will have to wait a year until the next one. J
Success and wisdom! Races are won with the mind first!
